Therapy at Forefront
Psychotherapy as a profession has only been around a little more than a century. Yet the core principles of therapy—understanding emotion, exploring relationships, and fostering growth—have been around a lot longer. At its best, therapy is a dynamic process of discovery, healing, and transformation.
There are two main schools of therapy. The younger school is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which teaches skills to help patients to established health outcomes. The older school, Psychodynamic Therapy, is what I practice. I don’t believe that I know a priori what’s important to you. Psychodynamic therapy is very flexible and our work together at Forefront is collaborative and tailored to you.
Therapy at Forefront isn’t about quick fixes or superficial change. It isn’t about an expert telling you what to do. It’s about two curious people engaging with the deeper layers of
who you are, creating lasting change, and building a more authentic, fulfilling, and joyful life.

Dr Jon Reeves

Hello! I’m Dr Jon Reeves, owner of Forefront Psychology and licensed clinical psychologist. I provide psychotherapy primarily in Washington (PY61003047) and Massachusetts (10682). In addition, I serve states participating in the PsyPact Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT; 14747). My therapy approach is most informed by relational psychodynamic, object relations, attachment, and existential therapies.
My job is to form deep relationships with people and talk about the most important topics in their lives—it’s wonderful work and I feel lucky to have found it. I believe in therapy because I believe it can make people healthier, and that healthier people make for a better world. Healthy people experience more joy, have better relationships, live in greater harmony, and can work and play more creatively. They also
grieve more honestly, feel their pain more directly, and learn to live with their limitations, regrets, and mortality. The work of therapy can be challenging, but transformational.
